The Executive Mayor of Nnewi South Local Government Area, Hon. Van George Ezeogidi (Ijele Utuh), has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering peace and security within the communities under his jurisdiction.
His declaration
came during a routine security patrol aimed at ensuring tranquility and
addressing any potential conflicts that may hinder the area’s progress.
Ezeogidi
emphasized the critical role peace plays in facilitating development, stating,
“In a peaceful environment, individuals and organizations can thrive, leading
to rapid growth and progress in our communities.” He underscored that the
security of lives and property is paramount, and as such, he will work closely
with various security agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders to maintain
and enhance safety measures.
During
the patrol, Ezeogidi engaged with local residents, encouraging them to remain
vigilant and report any suspicious activities. He stressed the importance of
community involvement in ensuring a safe environment, asserting that security
is a collective responsibility that requires the participation of all citizens.
The
Nnewi South LG boss also announced plans to organize a series of community
forums aimed at addressing security concerns and strengthening collaboration
between the local government and the populace. Through these initiatives, he
hopes to create a robust network that fosters trust and cooperation among
community members.

Ezeogidi further reiterated his belief that only through sustained peace can
Nnewi South realize its full developmental potential. He remains optimistic
about the future and pledged to continue his efforts to build a safer and more
prosperous community for all residents.
