China Says, “If War Is What The US Wants, We’re Ready To Fight!”

1.    By Mike Echet

China has a strong message for the United States: “If war is what you want, we’re ready to fight!” This comes after the US raised taxes on things it buys from China, and China decided to fight back. Let’s break it down in simple words so everyone can understand what’s happening.

What’s Going On?

The US and China are having a big fight, but not with fists or weapons. This fight is about money and trade. The US buys lots of things from China, like toys, clothes, and electronics. But the US government, led by President Donald Trump, decided to charge extra taxes (called tariffs) on these Chinese products. This makes Chinese products more expensive for Americans to buy.

On Tuesday, the US raised these taxes to 20%. China didn’t like this, so it fought back by adding 15% taxes on American farm products, like soybeans and corn. This is called a “trade war,” where countries use taxes to fight each other instead of talking and solving problems.

China’s Strong Words

China is not backing down. The Chinese Embassy in Washington shared a message on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “If war is what the US wants, be it a tariff war, a trade war, or any other type of war, we’re ready to fight till the end.” This means China is prepared to stand strong and protect itself, no matter what.

The Fentanyl Problem

The US is also blaming China for something called the fentanyl crisis. Fentanyl is a very strong drug that can be dangerous if not used properly. The US says China is not doing enough to stop fentanyl from coming into America. But China says this is just an excuse for the US to raise taxes on Chinese products.

China said, “If the US truly wants to solve the fentanyl issue, it should talk to China as equals.” China also said it has already helped the US with this problem, but the US is not being thankful. Instead, the US is blaming China and using the issue to pressure them. China doesn’t like this and says, “Intimidation does not scare us. Bullying does not work on us.”

Canada Joins the Fight

Meanwhile, Canada is also upset with the US. Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, said Canada will add 25% taxes on $155 billion worth of American products. This is Canada’s way of fighting back after the US raised taxes on Canadian and Mexican products.

Trudeau said, “The moment US tariffs came into effect this morning, so did the Canadian response.” Canada will start by taxing $30 billion worth of American goods right away and the rest in 21 days.

What Does This Mean?

When countries fight like this, it can make things more expensive for everyone. For example, if the US taxes Chinese toys, those toys might cost more in American stores. If China taxes American soybeans, farmers in the US might lose money because they can’t sell as much to China.

This trade war is making things tense between the US, China, and even Canada. Instead of working together, these countries are using taxes to fight. But China says it won’t be bullied and is ready to stand its ground.
