Anambra State Executive Council has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR on receiving the Sun Newspaper’s Governor of the Year award. The award, presented in Lagos, was dedicated to the Solution Team, stakeholders, and the people of Anambra State.
Speaking after the Council’s
fifth meeting on March 3, 2025, Commissioner for Information Dr. Law Mefor
highlighted Governor Soludo’s launch of the Anambra Geographic Information
Service, calling it a significant milestone in modernising land administration.
The system automates land authentication and certification, streamlining access
to land services for Ndi Anambra.
As the Soludo administration
approaches its third anniversary on March 17, 2025, the state government has
announced a week-long celebration featuring the commissioning of major
projects, including urban regeneration efforts in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local
Government Area. Okpoko, once the largest urban slum east of the Niger, has
undergone a remarkable transformation under Governor Soludo’s leadership.
The Council also approved
several strategic contracts aimed at advancing infrastructure, healthcare, and
security across the state. Lextech Ecosystem Ltd has been awarded a contract
worth N89,139,000.00 to develop and publish an electronic database of revised
Anambra State laws and associated services. Oxygen Healthcare Ltd will supply
and install state-of-the-art medical equipment at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu
Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, at a cost of
N2,193,772,108.00. Zhontiang Construction Company has secured a N273,026,399.67
contract for an urban regeneration project at Chinua Achebe International Airport,
Umueri.
Stansol Synergy Ltd will supply
and install security equipment at the new Government House and Governor’s
Lodge, Awka, at a cost of N131,627,533.73. Zhontiang Construction Company has
also been awarded a contract worth N545,697,137.00 for the construction of a
bumper car building, drivers’ lounge, and covered walkway at Solution Fun City,
Awka.
Governor Soludo’s
administration continues to drive infrastructural development and urban
renewal, reinforcing Anambra’s position as a model for good governance and
sustainable growth.
