GodLight Foundation Holds 2025 International Conference

All is now set for the 2025 International Conference of GodLight Foundation, USA, in collaboration with the Department of Religion and Human Relations, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Anambra State.

Speaking during a visit to the MD/CEO of Anambra State Solid Minerals Development Company Limited, Prof. Charles O. Ofoegbu, to brief him on the upcoming conference, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Rev. Fr. Dr. Humphrey Anameje, stated that the theme of the conference, 'GodLight: Humanities and Science in Contemporary World Order,' focuses on the interface between humanistic values and scientific innovation in shaping our world.

Fr. Anameje noted that the goal of the conference is to inspire transformative solutions that honour both the spirit of inquiry and the moral imperatives that must be at play in human progress. He believes that integrating these fields is essential for addressing the complex challenges of our time.

Also speaking during the visit, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Religion at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Sr. Dr. Mary Emilia Aboekwe, who is also the Ambassador of GodLight Foundation, USA, emphasised that the aim of the conference is to improve human lives, particularly the lives of youths and the underprivileged in Nigeria.

According to her, the theme of the conference reflects God's core mission, which illuminates the path towards a world where scientific progress is harmonised with ethical considerations and human dignity, serving as a bridge between humanities and science to make the world a better place.

The international conference, which is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, March 26 to Saturday, March 29, 2025, at ETF Auditorium, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, is expected to have in attendance the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as the Special Guest of Honour; the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Chuma Udeh, as the Guest of Honour; and the MD/CEO of Anambra State Solid Minerals Development Company Limited, Prof. Charles O. Ofoegbu, as the Chairman of the Conference, among others.
