The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its directive prohibiting communities from collecting fees from tenants for documentation purposes. This announcement follows the 3rd Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting, which took place on 17 February 2025.
In a
statement signed by Dr. Law Mefor, Commissioner for Information, the government
urged the Presidents-General of the 179 communities in Anambra State to ensure
strict compliance with this directive to avoid potential consequences.
The
government also expressed gratitude for the cooperation of Ndi Anambra regarding
the new security arrangements designed to enhance safety throughout the state.
Authorities have encouraged residents to remain vigilant and to dismiss any
blackmail or misinformation spread by disgruntled individuals regarding the
initiatives of Agunechemba and Operation Udo Ga-Achi.
Anambra
State is progressing, and security is a shared responsibility. Residents are
encouraged to report any suspicious activity by calling 5111, with assurances
that all calls and messages will be treated confidentially.
