The Traditional Ruler of the Ihite Community in Orumba South Local Government Area, Igwe Timothy Afurunwa, has expressed profound admiration for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s pragmatic leadership style.
The Ihite monarch praised
Governor Soludo for setting an unprecedented standard in ensuring a peaceful
and legitimate succession process within the traditional rulership system in
Anambra State.
Speaking at his palace in
Ihite, Igwe Afurunwa stated that Soludo’s visionary leadership has marked a
significant turning point in Anambra’s history, establishing him as the first
governor to create a transparent, equitable, and peaceful succession framework
for the state’s traditional institutions.
According to him, the new
system enables communities to elect capable and popular traditional rulers, a
departure from the old system where government officials often imposed leaders,
resulting in discord in many communities.
Igwe Afurunwa also commended
Governor Soludo’s remarkable achievements across Anambra State and assured him
of his unwavering support. He pledged to collaborate with the governor and
other stakeholders to foster peace, progress, and development in Ihite, Orumba
South, and the entire state.
