Vanguard columnist, Rotimi Fasan really deserves a National Award for courage to expose the 'monkey tricks' all along being engaged by the Northern traditional and political elites on the devastating issues of Islamic insurgency, terrorists invaders having the borders in the northern part of the country flung open for their unchecked infiltration
The immigration officials claim helpless that there are
countless borders in the North that would be impossible to man and check the
infiltration of terrorists masquerading as herdsmen from the Sahel region of
West Africa
Although well informed
Nigerians were never hoodwinked and bamboozled about the sudden emergence of
Islamic insurgency deceptively named: Boko Haram, bandits, criminals, ISWAP and
ubiquitous AK 47 wielding terrorists masquerading as herdsmen conducting
themselves as being above the law having a supposed "godfather" in
Aso Villa.
It would be recalled that during the presidency of Good luck Jonathan, the northern traditional and political elites did not hide their abhorrence for his ascendency to the presidency arguing that the north had to complete the vacuum created by the untimely death of President Shehu Y'adua.
To be fair and forthright, their claim was justified but the "powerful" former president, Obasanjo throwing his weight about installed Jonathan to the chagrin and resentment of the northern traditional and political elites. In the frantic ferocious attempt to demonstrate their grouse, Boko Haram sprouted and began to exhibit clear signs of terrorists, constituting a formidable threat to the Sovereignty of the country.
Armed with the Sovereign power
inherent in the presidency, president Jonathan as the Commander in Chief of the
Armed Forces effectively mobilized the armed forces, air, land and sea headed
by the formidable Army General Ihejirika who relentlessly pursued the Islamic
invaders to the point of routing them but the northern traditional and
political elites rose against the Army General Ihejirika and Jonathan saying
that "attack on Boko Haram is attack on the north". What an amazing
declaration and brazen faced utterance!
The same phalanx turned around
to accuse Jonathan of gross incompetence to secure Nigeria from terrorists and
conspired to manipulate the presidential election to throw up an incompetent
northern person to be president. "The rest", as the saying goes,
"is history" . The past eight years of northern person as president
witnessed a horrendous atrocities in Terrorism, armed AK-47 wielding
pastoralists invaders, terrorists baptised as "criminals and
bandits", and the so-called ISWAP etc. which majored in mindless kidnapping
for ransom running into hundreds of millions while the supposed Nigerian police
and sister security agencies pretend that they are helpless even as they are
beholden to the landlord in Aso Villa for his "body language", as it
were.
Then enter the "Emilokan"
presidency: kidnapping especially in the North went into overdrive not minding
the open evidence of a well-coordinated syndicate covertly piloted by the
elites. Hear the detailed account of the erudite columnist Rotimi Fasan
including the photo shop of his article on the issue of kidnapping in the north
covertly guided by the elites ostensibly to leave the ugly impression that
president Tinubu is not capable of finding pragmatic panacea for routing the
Islamic insurgency and terrorists masquerading as herdsmen kidnapping for
humongous ransom:
Nor has Gumi bothered to say a
word about the complicity of the Northern political and religious elite in the
creation of the state of insecurity that pervades the region. His fingers are
always pointing at people and institutions outside the North...the apparent
complicity of the Northern elite in the lawlessness should make the issue less
of national concern or embarrassment and more a matter of the regional and
communal responsibility of those concerned.
No sooner are the criminals
appeased than they return to their vomit. Banditry or insurgency will end in
the North the day the Northern elite in general and the communities concerned
in particular decide that they have had enough". Please read the attached
Photoshops for shocking details of the Columnist extensive research.
Minimum
Wage Implementation Without A Review Of Statutory Revenue Sharing Formula Will
Be A Barren Excise
For many years the federal
government refused to review statutory allocation sharing to reduce the
humongous share of the federal government, 54 percent.
That is why the past and
present president refused to devolve powers to the state government. State
police is a virtual impossibility without a review of statutory revenue
sharing. APC-led federal government is not working towards devolution of powers
(don't call it restructuring the lopsided federation and dumping the military
decreed unitary constitution.
