A family is mourning and demanding for Justice after their daughter, Rebeka Sekidika, a first class University graduate died in a hospital in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to reports, Rebeka
passed away during a hospital visit for a routine procedure, hence, her family
is accusing the hospital of medical negligence.
Rebeka who was set to travel
abroad to further her education had visited Paragon Clinics & Imaging in
Port Harcourt after she missed her period for three months.
According to her father who
narrated the tragic incident, a number of tests, including pregnancy test, were
done on the 24-year-old and they all came out negative.
She then returned to the
hospital for a diagnostic hysterescopy.
She was perfectly fine when she
visited the hospital on February 2nd for a non-life-threatening diagnostic
procedure. While waiting, she even attended her online class using her laptop
at the hospital before seeing the doctor.
However, minutes later, her
parents report hearing commotion coming from the theatre and they were later
informed that Rebeka had died.
The father, who is grieving,
mentioned that when he entered the operating room, he found his daughter in a
pool of blood. He is puzzled as to how his previously healthy daughter could
end up in such a state.
