Mrs. Gladys Okodo Omodiagbe, a
member of the Living Faith Church, delivered the quadruplets through a
Caesarean Section at a private hospital in Effurun. However, the joyous
occasion has been overshadowed by the financial strain the family is currently
facing.
An open letter titled 'A Call
for Urgent Help!' was issued by Comrade Derrick Oritsematosan Agberen, National
Coordinator of No Justice, No Peace Initiative, on behalf of the family.
Agberen revealed that the quadruplets have been in an incubator since their
premature birth on October 21, 2023. The hospital charges N20,000 per child per
day for incubation, amounting to N80,000 for all four babies.
While three of the babies have
been taken out of the incubator in recent days, the fourth one remains, and the
family is grappling with the financial burden of the prolonged hospital stay.
Agberen urgently appealed to
compassionate Nigerians to rally support for Mrs. Omodiagbe and her family,
emphasizing the critical situation they are facing. The family has paid
N1,598,000 of the N5,598,050 needed to settle the hospital bills.
He highlighted the financial
challenges associated with caring for multiple infants and stressed the
importance of collective assistance. Agberen called on the public to contribute
to the family's fund, stating that the Coastal Specialist Clinic in Warri,
Delta State, where Mrs. Omodiagbe gave birth, has shown understanding but
requires prompt payment of the incurred charges.
The family urgently needs the
remaining N4,000,050 to clear the outstanding bills and secure the release of
the newborns. Agberen expressed gratitude for the considerate treatment
provided by the hospital staff and urged everyone to respond to the family's
plight by offering financial support during this challenging period.
