In an accomplishment of note, Subair Enitan, a 200-level student at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun state, has been hospitalized after successfully completing a 58-hour hand wash-a-thon.
Enitan initiated the challenge
on November 24 at the Student Union Building Motor Park on the university
campus, with substantial support from thousands of students. The goal was to
establish a record for the longest hand cloth washing by an individual, a
pursuit initiated by applying to the Guinness World Record last June.
Enitan concluded the 58-hour
marathon on Monday, surpassing her initial target of 50 hours, and was
subsequently taken to the institution’s clinic in a School Ambulance for a medical
examination. Prior to heading to the clinic, Enitan expressed fulfillment at
accomplishing the task in the presence of her mother, Omogbolabo Afolake, who
had been present at the venue for over two days.
